DSTC has developed the software solution for a secure electronic document exchange (EDoX) facility for the Brisbane North Division of General Practice (BNDGP). The project, which will assist Health Providers in the Brisbane North region to better share health information, involves BNDGP, HCN, DSTC and other parties. DSTC’s software solution has now been delivered to BNDGP and is currently under test by the division.

The goal of the EDoX facility is to improve health outcomes for the Brisbane North community, reduce errors and the duplication of health information, and minimise unnecessary hospital admissions which are experienced with the current system. Patients only share those parts of their health information that they wish to share, which means any registered healthcare organisation which treats these patients will have access to the patient’s shared health history, including such vital information as allergies and current medications. Consumers retain the right to decide which parts of the consultation to add to the shared health record each time they visit their General Practitioner.
