Clowes Graves Site
Daniel Clowes moved to Agnes Water
and took up a lease in the name of
his son William in 1878, The original
lease covered an area of 12 square miles.
The family settled close to the southern
boundary of the run which was near the
main surf beach and had a permanent
fresh water lagoon.
Daniel died on 23 May 1891. He was
buried next to his first wife Rachel
under the shade of the Moreton Bay fig
tree not far from the homestead.
Rachel died in 1885. William and
Daniel jnr. left Agnes Water leaving
Richard Robertson in charge of the property.
