S312696 Two friends, two headstones - one grave Broome Town Beach Pioneer Cemetery. Edward Chippindall (born 1852) and Thomas Haynes (born 1853) were partners in pearling operations (possibly 2 schooners and 11 luggers) until Edward's death from misadventure. Thomas later cultivated pearl shell on the Montebello Islands for a time. He died in England and had his ashes interred here with his friend and former business partner, Edward. and restored headstone photo
