Cloudy was a mouser and a ratter, but Sunny prefered to let Cloudy deal with mice. Since the 2011 and 2013 floods, there have been more mice around presumably driven inland by the rising water which came about 500m from us. In August 2015, we started noticing the food bowls were empty in the mornings, something Cloudy and Sunny didn't do. Then we started hearing loud eating and sounds of a cat running out of the house. Eventually we got a photo of him in the kitchen and on the driveway at night. On the RSPCA website there was a lost animal service listing a photo that possibly was him, and we called the owner. His name was Mika. She was delighted and came and took him home. However he was back a few days later, and this happened a few times. This was from a street about 2.5km away on the other side of a busy road and a creek (with a few bridges). Eventually we adopted him. While we didn't have fights, it was clear that cats were unhappy sharing food bowls and we ended up with 3 food bowls.
