HP MIBs ======= HP Openview (and presumably more so with ITO clients), has an extensible MIB (Emanate). (This supplants the SUN master agent described below). On Openview systems see /var/opt/OV/share/snmp_mibs/Vendor/Hewlett-Packard/hp-unix. This includes uptime/load averages, file systems. The Sun extensions MIB described below seems to interoperate with the HP/OV master agent. Sun MIBs ======== Solaris recent versions have an SNMP agent delivered as part of the standard installation. It includes standard MIB-2 but is extensible too. See /var/snmp/mib. The standard extension is:- SUN-EXTENSIONS-MIB /projects/mibmaster/009.Releases/MIB/SUN-EXTENSIONS-MIB Includes the process table, including memory footprints, user, command, etc. There is an option through the MIB to send a signal to the process (whoa). Also there is basic uptime, page fault, network performance data system wide. IETF MIBs ========= RFC2790 : Host Resources MIB describes the hardware (memory, disks, networks, printers, filesystems etc) installed. It also includes the installed/running software, including arguments, state, CPU usage, memory footprint. RFC2707/8 : Job Monitoring MIB For print jobs. draft-ietf-rmonmib-pmcaps-01.txt : Performance Measuring Capabilities MIB This is read-only about what is collected by the system. Requires RMON [rfc2021] and IPPM [rfc 2330, 2678, 2679, 2680, 2681].
